Day 3
An exiting day ahead of us, as we depart from Oudshoorn to
George and take the route through the Outeniqua Pass to George.
We board the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe, a steam train for an
unforgettable ride over five lakes, five rivers, two estuaries,
through Wilderness to Knysna. At Knysna we take a boatride on
the picturesque lagoon and visit the “Garden of Eden”, as well
as the Oyster farm at the Knysna estuary. We spend the night in
Knysna.
Day 4
Have you ever feeded an elephant….today is your day. We visit
the world-class interpretation center where we have the
opportunity to feed and touch these giants. After this high note
we depart to Plettenberg Bay for a dolphin and whales (in
season) safari in the bay. We continue our tour along the shores
of the Indian Ocean to Port Elizabeth and the Addo Elephant
National Park. This park is home to about 330 elephants, as well
as Rhino and Buffalo. We end the day with a game drive in the

Day 6
Tsitsikamma rain forest is our next stop. We take a guided hike
in the forest, and walk over the Storms River Mouth Suspension
Bridge. For the first time we can enjoy the unequaled beauty of
the indigenous forest from high up on the tree tops. We gently
glide along in a harness along a steel cable, 30 m above the
forest floor. Birdlife is abundant (including the Knysna Loeries
and the elusive Narina Trojan), and your guides will explain the
ecology of the lush primeval forest. Optional: Bungy jump. We
spend the night in one of the guesthouses in the area.
Day 7
History is our main focus for today. Mosselbay is our next
destination. We take a step back in history and visit the
Bartolomeu Diaz Museumcomplex, as well as the 500 year old Post
Office Tree. We board a life-size replica of the caravel. This
Navigator used to sail into this bay in 1488. Imagine to if we
were living in the past…wait forever for a letter! We take a
visit to the Wildebraam farm in Swellendam. This cellar produces
unique South African liqueurs. All these liqueurs and a range of
berry products can be enjoyed at the tasting room. Agulhas,
which is the most southern town in South Africa is our next
destination that we visit. This is where the two oceans
(Atlantic and Indian) meet. East of the lighthouse in the
shallow gullies we can still see the remains of the fish traps,
where the inhabitants collected their fish. These traps are made
out of layers of rock that is packed around the pools. The
lighthouse is the second oldest working lighthouse in South
Africa. We spend the night at the Agulhas Country House.

Day 8
What a pity…today is our last day. We drive towards Gansbaai
town. This town that used to be a fishing village, has achieved
a legendary appeal as the “Big 2 Town”. It is now a worldwide
destination for thrill seekers and nature lovers, to see the
Great White Sharks and the Southern Right Whales (whale watching
from July to December). We take an eco-marine trip, which depart
from Kleinbaai harbor to visit Dyer Island and Geyser Rock. Dyer
Island is home to 28 different seabirds, as well as the African
Penguin. Geyser Rock has a seal colony of 60 000 Cape fur seals.
The narrow channel between these two islands is known as Shark
Alley. We will spend some time with these shark cage diving
boats and surface view the Great White sharks. We visit the
Danger point lighthouse whish was established in 1895. It is one
of the most dangerous places in the world where the ships
(Birkenhead), come too close inshore. We depart from Gansbaai
town and take the scenic Gordon’s Bay route towards Cape Town.
