ITINERARY:
Day 1
We leave early from Cape Town for Three Sisters via the Karoo
towns of Lainsburg, Matjiesfontein and Beaufort West. Moving on
through the Karol till we reach our overnight stop in Three
sisters, and enjoy the farm hospitality and true Karoo lamb
dinners.
Day 2
Today we will continue the journey along the diamond route to
Kimberley, the diamond capital to South Africa. Visit the Big
Hole and get some insight on how life was like, as a prospector.
Head of to see where the first street lights were erected in
South Africa and much more. Overnight in Kimberley.
Day 3
We continue on towards Johannesburg via Potchefstroom and visit
Gold reef city for a half day tour. Experience the 1890’s
recreated mining village, sightseeing train, descend down Gold
mind shaft to Level 5 (220 m / 715 ft below the surface), and
see gold pour and African Dancers. Depart to Pretoria for a
short tour of our Capital and the Union buildings, we find our
accommodation. Tonight, after sundown over city views, we enjoy
nightlife in Hatfield, the student and Young People’s party
capital of Gauteng.
Day 4
After breakfast it is straight for the bushveld and our days on
“safari time”. We drive the Panoramic route and explore the
following places: Gods Window, Lisbon Falls, 3 Rondavels,
Bourkes Luck Potholes, etc. We head of towards Hazyview, on the
border of the world famous Kruger National Park. Tonight we will
listen to the sounds of the bush around us and enjoy a good old
bush braai.
Day 5
This morning we have an early start to greet the African
sunrise, while searching for the “Big Five”. We spend the whole
day in Kruger for an unforgettable experience in the bush. We
will stop at some of the water holes and hides, searching for
more animals. We have lunch at a picnic spot. Spend the night in
Kruger.
Day 6
Today we spend looking for the antelope that we have missed
yesterday. You can never get enough of the beauty of Africa and
its wildlife. It is a privilege to life in a country with such
beauty.
Day 7
Today we can give the wildlife a bit of rest as we explore the
areas around Hazyview. We visit the quant little villages of
Graskop, Sabie and Pelgrims Rest, before returning for the
option of a night drive in the Kruger, to search for animals
like lion, leopard, hyena and more.
Day 8
Today is our last day in Kruger. Today we spent looking for the
ones we have not found yet. By now we hope that you have seen
the “Big Five”. Farewell dinner around the bushfire.
Day 9
We return to Pretoria route taking in the splendor of the
Drakensberg mountain range and its beauty. We stop at a little
town called Dulstroom, the trout capital to South Africa. We
arrive in Pretoria with possibly time to spare for a visit to
the curio shop to do some important shopping. We spend the night
in Pretoria.
Day 10
Today we head of to Bloemfontein through the Freestate farmlands
while enjoying the landscape and towns like Kroonstad. We will
overnight in Colesberg.
Day 11
Today we head back home via Graaf Reinette. We stop in
Oudtshoorn to visit the dripstone caves, “Cango Caves”, as well
as a tour through the Safari Show Ranch, an Ostrich farm. We
drive to Mosselbay and spend the night in town.
Day 12
Visit the Diaz museum for a historical tour and board the
replica of the Caravel the Navigator used to sail into this bay
in 1488. Visit the Post Office Tree. Continue to Swellendam for
lunch. After lunch we head towards Cape Town for a well deserved
rest.
Now you can say that you have seen more of this beautiful country than many of its own citizens!
